Collection: 3D Printing Workshops

These workshops are an introduction for kids who are interested in 3D printing.

They are a relaxed class of two attendees and take place in the beautiful grounds of Hylands House in Chelmsford.

There are two types of class:

Intro to 3D Printing and Design (2 hours)

An introduction to 3D printing and how it is used in the real world. An opportunity to design and print a keyring to get used to designing and then some free time to design either a game or pen pot (not limited to these items if they want to get creative).

Mini Printer Fun Session (1.5 hours)

This is a slower paced class for 5/6 year olds who may not be completely comfortable with using a computer. The class involves some design work, printing and then some fun painting of a flexi animal whilst waiting for their prints to finish. (Please note, acrylic paints are used during this session and although aprons will be provided, messy clothes are encouraged!)

Although we will aim to always have a print for the attendee to take away from the session, any prints that are still printing once the session is over can be collected or posted when finished.

I will provide a list of free design software they can use at home.

I know a lot of kids wish to design their own dragons and flexi animals but this sort of design work can not be achieved in a few hours. If your child has a continued interest in design or printing after the workshop, I can offer ongoing support for projects they want to work on after the workshop.

Health & Safety

This workshops will take place in a working studio and the attendees will be encouraged to independently use the printers, under supervision. The printers have heated and moving parts. Attendees will be expected to listen to instructions and safety warnings provided.

Parents are welcome to leave the children at the workshop and explore the park or make the most of 10% discount in the Deli Cafe. However, please remain on the grounds of Hylands Estate and leave a contact number. I can only accommodate one parent per child in the studio due to space.
